Students United for Africa

Mission Statement
With the understanding that education is the key to development, S.U.F.A is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty that plagues many African nations. By improving and expanding schools, we can provide students with tools necessary for learning and growth. Students working with students, we desire to enable children in Africa to work toward a brighter tomorrow. What We Do
Currently, SUFA is working with a school in the northern region of Ghana, West Africa. The poorest village in Ghana, most Manyoro citizens live on far less than a dollar per day. With over 1,700 students in attendance, Manyoro village has the largest enrollment rate in the country, yet the school's three small classrooms, few desks, and no school supplies are less than accommodating. Students walk to school from up to 10 miles away, and often, spend a majority of the day listening to their growling, hungry stomachs. Our goal aims to create an environment conducive to learning, in hope that we may give these students the opportunity to grow and educate themselves in a place which encourages rather than hinders success.
